Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about IPT sessions
How many sessions will I need?
Many clients experience profound shifts in just one session. Others choose to book additional sessions for different issues and deeper work. Sessions are offered individually, with no required package or long-term commitment. You can choose the approach that best fits your needs.
What does a typical session look like?
A typical session is 60–90 minutes and is tailored to you and what you are ready to explore. For more details about the session experience, visit the What to Expect section on our “What is IPT?” page.
Is IPT covered by insurance?
IPT sessions are offered as a holistic wellness service rather than licensed clinical therapy and are not typically covered by insurance. All sessions are private pay. Some HSA or FSA accounts cover holistic wellness services, so you are encouraged to check with your provider to see if your account is eligible.
Do you offer sessions for clients outside of Utah?
Yes! You do not need to be local to receive an IPT session. I offer in-person, virtual (online), and phone sessions, making it possible to work together from wherever you are. Each format provides the same IPT experience, so you can choose the option that feels most comfortable and convenient for you.
Can children receive IPT sessions?
Yes. IPT can be used with children, teens, and adults. I currently work with individuals ages 12 and older. If your child is under 12, I am happy to provide referrals to other IPT facilitators who work with younger children.
Do I need to prepare anything?
No special preparation is needed. Just come with an open mind and heart. It can be helpful to have a general sense of what you'd like to work on, but the process will naturally guide us to what needs attention.
Is IPT right for me?
If you're ready to explore the emotions, patterns, and experiences that may be influencing your life, IPT may be a good fit. IPT provides a gentle, holistic space for self-exploration and emotional wellness. It is not a replacement for clinical mental health treatment. If you're in crisis or have severe mental health concerns, please seek appropriate licensed professional help first.
